Tingatinga – Unique Paintings from Tanzania from 3rd July 2010 - 27th August 2010, at Space C Gallery, Croydon Clocktower, Katharine Street, Croydon, CR9 1ET.  This exhibition is the first ever event in England dedicated to the unique Tanzanian art style Tingatinga. A collection of over 25 contemporary Tanzanian Tingatinga paintings will be on show at this free event at the Space C Gallery in The Croydon Clocktower this summer.

Tingatinga today represents a unique painting style and part of the culture of Tanzania, it links closely to local communities and the individual painters alike. The exhibition bridges Tanzanian culture with our own. Exotic colours bring joy and inspiration while the touching themes link with our daily lives.

This summer the inspiring Tingatinga Art brings food for thought to Croydon.  In true Tanzanian style we invite and welcome everyone to experience the joy and inspiration of Tingatinga Art!  The collection on display is the personal collection of the organisers and will be on show for the fist time ever. The event is supported by the Tingatinga Arts Co-operative Society in Tanzania.

Monday – Saturday, 11am -5pm (closed on Sundays).
