Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC)
TIC is One Stop Agency of the Government of Tanzania established under the Tanzania Investment Act 1997 with the objective of promoting, coordinating and facilitating investment into Tanzania. The Centre deals with all enterprises whose minimum capital investment is not less than US$ 300,000 if foreign owned or US$ 100,000 if domestically owned. The Centre assists all investors to obtain relevant permits, authorisations and all documentations required for setting up and operate investment in Tanzania. Zanzibar Investment Promotion Agency (ZIPA)
ZIPA is an Investment Promotion Agency which was set-up by the Government of Zanzibar through the Parliamentary Investment Act of 1986 Since then ZIPA has developed transparent and streamlined investment procedures, and offers liberal incentives to qualifying investors. Tanzania Petrolleum Development Corporation (TPDC)
When TPDC was formed in 1969, the primary role was to oversee the operations of the only concession holder then working in the country. Following the discovery of the Songo Songo Gas field, and subsequent relinquishment by AGIP, TPDC undertook the confirmation of the gas field, and eventual appraisal. It is now geared to the development of the field as well as exploration in other basins in the country.
